Lauren Smith

Lauren has been involved with Sporting Marvels since she was 10 years old in Ysgol Yr Eos, and eventually graduated to become an All-Star at Ysgol Nantgwyn, formerly known as Tonypandy Community College. Lauren has successfully played a leading role in the Mighty Marvels Programme over the past few years having worked in 15 of Rhondda’s primary schools. She is also a Head Coach for the incredibly successful Rhondda Netball charity, Wales’ largest female sports participation initiative, and heads up Tonypandy Netball Club. Due to her sheer heart and care she is also a Trustee of the charity Heart for Africa, who play a big part in supporting orphans and communities in need in Tanzania, East Africa. After 5 years within the Mighty Marvels Programme, the 2019/20 academic year was a year of change for Lauren, with her transitioning to the All-Star Programme at Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda as well as taking on the role as Team Leader. She is a hard-working and committed individual who gives 100% to everything she’s involved with in the organisation.
