Becky Davies has worked with Sporting Marvels since January 2007, when she became the primary school co-ordinator for the Mighty Marvels programme. After a year in an ‘off-field’ role with Sporting Marvels, Becky was offered the job of replacing Kate Ritta (SM’s first American worker) as Community Development Officer at Tonypandy Community College.
Becky is a Rhondda girl born and bred and is particularly keen on developing girls sport in Rhondda. She currently oversees the United Churches Netball League and Rhondda Schools Netball League which are both going into their third year. Becky also completed her NQT training at Tonypandy via the schools RE & PSE curriculum but she works mainly now with the PE department in her role with Sporting Marvels. The current Director of Operations at Sporting Marvels, she is organisations longest serving worker and continues to play a key role in the development of the organisation in all areas.
Becky’s passion for helping young people is what keeps her going and she is also the author of a very popular weekly blog which focuses on improving self-esteem and teaching life lessons to teenage girls in particular.
