2010 has certainly started with a bang for Jody Barnes, pictured below delivering a Mighty Marvels lesson to one of our junior school partners.

We say “bang” because 1st January sees Jody’s promotion to full Marvel!

As you may know, Jody is something of a trophy for Sporting Marvels - the first person to be influenced by the ministry, saved and discipled under the ministry’s guidance, and now, working in and for the ministry!

“To see Jody go through her training and emerge as a fully fledged member of the team is an incredible encouragement for everyone”,

Phil said. “She epitomises what Sporting Marvels is all about: someone who was role-modelled to, who has now become a role model to others. I don’t know anyone better qualified to talk transformation to the kids of Rhondda. She’s a great girl”.

As you can imagine, Jody is buzzing!

“It’s awesome because I know I’ve come a long way since I was in school”, she told us. “I feel like my dreams. Are all coming true. I remember Phil telling me years ago that if I could dream it, I could achieve it. Well, I did and I have, and it feels great!  I’ve learned so much from all the Marvels and love being part of the team. I’m especially looking forward to helping the young people who are part of the youth work at Bethel Baptist Church.”
