Head Sings Ricardo's Praises! Print

Imagine how good it must make a Marvel feel when the headteacher of the school they are based at, speaks in glowing terms about the way in which they’ve affected for the good, the lives and attitude of school pupils.

Well earlier this month, Ricardo was in a lesson being formally assessed by Helen O’Sullivan, his headteacher at Tonypandy Community College!

Here’s a sample of what Mrs. O’Sullivan had to say.

“Ricardo is a respected member of the Sport and Physical Education staff and makes a significant contribution to the Teaching and Learning and ethos that prevail in this Faculty. He is a very positive role model for all students and supports staff in the delivery of lessons. Ricardo is always very positive and brings out the best in staff and students alike. His contribution to the delivery of Sport and Physical Education cannot be underestimated. This was especially apparent on what was a cold and windy day on the Astroturf!!”
“The Year 7 lesson that was observed clearly illustrated that Ricardo has good subject knowledge and an ability to read individuals and pre-empt situations. His ability to clarify teaching points and re-engage students is excellent. Ricardo played a significant role in the lesson and impacted positively on standards of engagement and achievement. His enthusiasm and ability to motivate students is contagious and was very evident in this lesson.”

Sounds like the sort of school report we’d have all loved to have had from our headteacher when we were in school I reckon!
Unfortunately, Ricardo finds himself next in line to be affected by our inability as yet, to secure a UK Sponsor License. As a result, he returns to South Africa in December hoping that his Christmas holiday won’t be an overly long one.

“Our renewed Sponsor License application was submitted on 9th October”, Phil said “We’re hoping that we’ll be a little more successful second time round. Rhondda’s children and young people need the likes of  Ricardo in their lives.”
