Even though Ysgol Gymraeg Bodringallt is a junior school that teaches through the medium of the Welsh language, headteacher Marion Roberts jumped at the chance to be part of Sporting Marvels.

That was way back in May 2005, when Bodringallt Welsh became one of the original half-dozen primary schools to become part of the Mighty Marvels programme.

“We have had some great workers over the years who’ve all made valuable contributions to our pupils”, Mrs. Roberts told us. “They’ve instilled good values and raised awareness of the importance of valuing diversity.”
Mrs. Roberts picks out current worker Angelo - right, pictured with some of her pupils - for special praise.

“Angelo is very popular with the children. He is a colourful character who shares personal experiences out of a great sense of humour. He is very much a part of our school community and has excellent relationships with staff and pupils”.

“Angelo pitches his lessons and delivery at exactly the right level and it’s true to say that our pupils learn so much from him and from Sporting Marvels. Wednesday morning is their favourite time of the week I think! Angelo often goes beyond the call of duty and his appearance in the school prom last summer is still being talked about!”

“We greatly appreciate Sporting Marvels and feel very privileged to be part of such a worthwhile venture”.
